The Perfect 5-Day Bali Itinerary for First-Time Visitors

Five days is the sweet spot for a first Bali trip long enough to see the highlights, short enough to stay focused. Here’s a tried-and-tested itinerary that balances culture, nature, and downtime.

Day 1 – Arrive & settle in Seminyak

After your airport transfer, check into your hotel and take the afternoon easy. Walk down to Seminyak Beach for your first Bali sunset, then dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants.

Day 2 – South Bali temples & Uluwatu sunset

Start with Tanah Lot in the morning, then make your way down the Bukit Peninsula to Uluwatu. Watch the famous Kecak fire dance as the sun drops into the Indian Ocean behind the clifftop temple.

Day 3 – Ubud: culture, monkeys & rice terraces

Head north to Ubud. Visit the Sacred Monkey Forest, walk the Campuhan Ridge, browse the art market, and end the day watching the Legong dance performance in the palace grounds.

Day 4 – Mount Batur sunrise trek

An early 2 AM start, but worth every step. Reach the summit by sunrise and enjoy breakfast with a view of the crater lake and Agung volcano in the distance. Rest and spa in the afternoon.

Day 5 – Beach day & departure

Spend the morning at Nusa Dua or Jimbaran Bay, pick up last-minute gifts at Seminyak Square, then your private driver will take you to the airport for your departure transfer.
