Here is an overview of your 3-day trip from Bali to East Java, exploring Mount Bromo, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, and Mount Ijen.
Day 1: Travel to Bromo Region
Your trip starts with a pick-up from your hotel or a meeting point in Bali around 06.00–08.30. Travel by car to Gilimanuk Port, followed by a ferry crossing to Java.
After arriving at Ketapang Port, continue your trip to the Bromo area by stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive at your accommodation at night around 18.00-19.00, check-in, enjoy dinner, and rest before the initial activity the next day.
Day 2: Sunrise on Mount Bromo & Tupak Sewu
Starting early in the morning around 2:00 to the experience of watching the sunrise on Mount Bromo. Travelling up the jeep to the vantage point and enjoy the sun rising around 04.00–05.30 as the volcano sights appear above the clouds.
After sunrise, continue the journey across the sea of sand and climb to the crater of Mount Bromo. This trip takes about 30-45 minutes and offers views of the active Merapi mountain up close.
Return to your accommodation for breakfast and preparation before continuing the journey to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. Arrive around noon and explore the waterfall area, including optional vantage and trekking alongside local guides.
In the afternoon, leave for your accommodation in the Ijen region, and arrive there at night. Enjoy dinner and take a break before the next morning departure.
Day 3: Mount Ijen & Return to Bali
Wake up around midnight (0.00–00:30) and go to Mount Ijen. After a short break and preparation, start trekking around 030 a.m. with the local guide.
Take the climb to the crater to see the famous blue fire (depending on the condition), followed by a view of the sunrise on top of the crater lake around 05.30–06.30.
After climbing, return to the base area and breakfast before continuing the journey back to Bali. Go to the port, take a ferry, and continue the car ride to your hotel, arrive at around 18.00–21.00, depending on your location.
